Echo is a true renaissance man. Dabbling in everything from physics and philosophy to spiritualism and hip-hop, he’s been getting people to think and question the reality around them for years now. I first encountered him on Twitter, where he’s a must-follow if you’re at all interested in thought-provoking spiritual matters, conspiracy theory, science, hip-hop, or any one of the dozens of topics he can be find tweeting about daily. His full-length album 100th Monkey was released earlier this year, and is an amazing work of conscious art, to be sure!
Echo recently took the time to answer some questions for us, and had some really cool things to say. Check it out!
You’ve just released a full-length album, you’ve performed in front of tens of thousands, what has been the shining moment of your musical career so far?
The shining moment is probably the recording and release of my 100th Monkey album, and its response from the public. It’s the first time I was able to record something that was entirely “up my alley”, as far as subject matter. I still want to push the boundaries on what I rap about because I feel there IS a marketplace for my style of rap, which has street essence (since I grew up hanging out in the streets of Washington Heights, NYC) but still the scientific and spiritual approach.
100th Monkey dropped earlier this year, an incredible and thought-provoking album, have you been happy with the reception thus far?
Yes I’ve been happy with the reception. Of course, like any musician, I’d love for it to reach millions of people, and not just for the financial reasons (and this is not meant in a capitalist sense but, more for the want to fund many projects in the scientific community that would benefit all of humanity), but for the actual 100th Monkey syndrome to take effect. For now, the reception the album’s gotten from the fans that have supported my music has been gratifying.
You’ve got an uncanny knack for getting people to think, did you make a conscious effort at some point that you were going to use your art to unlock minds?
It just seemed like the perfect fit since I grew up within the hip-hop culture and I already loved to rap. I thought, what better way to reach the people of my generation than implanting things I’ve learned & channeled into the music I create? Seemed like a win-win. I also felt rap music as a whole could use some balance.
Your Twitter feed has been a favorite of mine for a long time, and an indispensable source for news and links, do you have any outlets you visit regularly for your information?
Thanks for the kind words. I don’t really tap into the MSM much for any truth or information and even when I do, it’s mostly surface and then I go within myself to go deeper than the info, to the source. I do enjoy looking through The Week, HuffPost Science, etc., but, I mostly look into actual archives for information I seek from the past. For the most part, a lot of the information I put out there comes from meditations and channeled messages from my higher Self.
Being that you’ve had a hand in getting so many people to question the truth of their reality, can you look back and pinpoint the moment that you had that ‘awakening’ moment? Or was it something that happened over a period of time?
My awakening was gradual but, what really sparked it was when I found out, as a teenager, that my father had a separate life and another family he lived with, which completely blew my sense of reality out the window. The other event was a confrontation I had with the police, that wound up a little violent. That incident, along with many other arrests during my drug dealing days, made me want to research a lot of the organizations in society. Once I went down that “rabbit hole”, I never stopped falling down it.
A lot is being and has been said about a Great Awakening going on right now, a growth in the collective conscious towards truth, have you been able to witness that through your huge platform on social media?
I’ve been able to witness an awakening for a while now but, it’s much more “in people’s faces” thanks to social media and the internet in general. A lot of protests, uprisings/revolutions, governments crumbling, politicians quitting, banks closing, mass shootings, etc., are all indications that there is an awakening happening and that it’s being documented and reported. Even the ancients knew that cosmic events and alignments affect every living thing on Earth so, many of the things that have been described in ancient texts such as our sun’s alignment with Alcyone in the Pleiades system (their sun), the galactic center crossing, entering the Age Of Aquarius, etc., must be having some effect on all of us. Many of our ancestors have also believed we were leaving a period of being “in the dark” into one that is “into the light”.
What gives you the most hope for the future?
Humanity itself. And my knowing that at our core, we’re all one. So if I have the belief that everyone, and every living thing, is merely another expression of me, I know we’re going to be ok and that we’re headed in the right direction. Because I am.
What can fans expect from Echo in the future?
Well, musically, I’m working on some things but, I won’t be divulging any details until after the new year so for now, everyone can go check out my two newest singles “R E I N C A R N A T I O N” and “Nutshell” on my Soundcloud page and of course, go cop my album “100th Monkey” at either iTunes or BandCamp. If you cop the album you get my free book “Shit I Believe In Volume 1” which can be purchased here.
Without a doubt, this is an artist we should all be supporting! Check out his music on iTunes and BandCamp. Echo can also be found on Twitter, YouTube, Soundcloud, and ReverbNation.
